  1. What should I do if I have a burst pipe? -  Turn off your main stopcock and call a plumber near me

  2. How can I prevent frozen pipes in winter? - Pipe lagging is a cheap but effective way of protecting your pipes during the winter months to prevent burst pipes

  3. Why is my water pressure so low? - First stop is to contact your water provider to check that there are no issues with their pumping equipment. There are many reasons for low water pressure and just as many remedies. Contact a  plumber to uncover the issue.

  4. How do I know if I have a water leak? - Your water bill may be higher than usual, you may have staining on ceilings or floors, or you could even hear water running from somewhere.

  5. What’s the difference between hard and soft water? - Hard water contains high levels of dissolved minerals, particularly calcium and magnesium, while soft water has lower mineral content and often higher sodium levels.

Heating System FAQs

  1. How often should I service my boiler? - Annually.....NON NEGOTIABLE

  2. What’s the best temperature to set my thermostat in winter? - How long is a piece of string?  Set it to 19° and see how it feels. One person's cold is someone else's baking hot. Consider purchasing a smart thermostat to really dial it in and reduce your energy bills

  3. Why is my boiler making strange noises? - There are many reasons for a noisy boiler, it could be a simple as a loose casing screw or as serious as a split heat exchanger.

  4. How do I bleed a radiator?  - To bleed a radiator, first turn off your heating system and allow the radiator to cool. Then, use a radiator key or a flat-head screwdriver to open the bleed valve at the top of the radiator, allowing trapped air to escape until water flows steadily, then close the valve.

  5. Why is my radiator not getting hot? - It could be a faulty TRV, faulty pump, air in the system, sludge in the system or a problem with the gas/electricity supply

  2. What should I do while waiting for an emergency plumber? - Isolate water supply if possible and try to catch water in a container

  3. How quickly can you respond to a heating emergency? - We will try to provide a same day service for emergency situations
